What data LangScribe collects, why, and how it is protected.
LangScribe is built local-first. Video files never leave your device. We collect only what is needed to run the service. We do not sell personal data, show ads or use third-party tracking.
While signed out, your library, subtitles, player settings, theme and language are stored only in your browser storage (IndexedDB) and never reach our servers. Video files are played directly from your device.
When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address and profile picture. Your library entries (titles, file names and links) and subtitles are then stored in our database hosted on Cloudflare D1, encrypted in transit and at rest, together with your credit balance and history.
Free translation sends the subtitle lines being translated from your browser directly to Google Translate, without passing through our servers and without your account details. AI subtitles send the audio extracted in your browser, in short chunks, to Cloudflare Workers AI; AI translation and AI word examples send the subtitle text and the selected word. This data is processed only to return the result and is not used by us to train models.
Purchases are handled by Creem, our Merchant of Record. Creem collects your payment details and billing address under its own privacy policy. We receive only what is needed to manage your plan and credits: a customer ID, your email, the product you bought and its status. We never see or store your card number.
We rely on Cloudflare (database, hosting and Workers AI), Google (sign-in and free translation) and Creem (payments). They process data only to provide their services to us.
You can export your library and delete your cloud library from Settings at any time. To delete your account entirely, or for any other privacy request, email mrdoublejun@gmail.com. We may update this policy; the date above shows the current version.
